Abstract

This book chapter covers models and control strategies for data centers integrated as smart grid nodes. It discusses how data centers can act as flexible loads that participate in demand-response programs, reducing energy costs while supporting grid stability. The chapter presents control architectures at multiple timescales, from fast server-level control to slower grid-level coordination.
